Leave them alone - Myanmar!

Leave them alone Myanmar - leave them!
Hiding behind guns and tanks.
Closing off the Internet.
You pigs.
Why do we all just watch? No oil.
No cares. Just fear - please.
Be bold! All told.

Bush on freedom and poverty - get real!

To quote George Bush's speech at the UN today:

"When innocent people are trapped in a life of murder and fear, the (UN) declaration is not being upheld. When millions of children starve to death or perish from a mosquito bite, we're not doing our duty in the world. When whole societies are cut off from the prosperity of the global economy, we're all worse off."

"Changing these underlying conditions is what the declaration calls the work of larger freedom and it must be the work of every nation in this assembly," he said. "This great institution must work for great purposes: to free people from tyranny and violence, hunger and diseases, illiteracy and ignorance and poverty and despair."

Yeah Bush et al - tell that mumbo jumbo gibberish to the woman above. For God's sake!

"Just Before Dying" - a short story

"Just Before Dying" by Philip Letts

A Short Story

Part 1

Shit oh shit. Shit. Damn that hurt. Where the fuck did that car come from? I never even saw it and I’m normally so careful crossing the road. Look left, look right, look left again and I never fail to do it, not once since my pedantic father taught me it way back when. So how did I miss this one? Shit.

God, they say that when it happens to you it happens so fast, so fast you never even see it coming. They’re right.

For the rest go to philiplettsshorts.blogspot.com.

Last weekend of my "Beached Hamptons" show at Studio 154

This is the last weekend of my "Beached Hamptons" show at Studio 154 (my public studio) on Long Island, New York.

Next week it has to give way to my fall show "Bright Lights." (God, not fall, not yet...)

So if you happen to be any where hear the Hamptons or the North Fork of Long Island drop by. Capture the last of the summer light and life...

For more info and directions go to www.studio154.net.

Philip Letts blogsite live!

So what's this site all about I hear you say?

Well, I guess I need to express myself through words as well as my pictures. After all, art is about emotions, vision and creativity. And politics, some times, in the right way...

So this blogsite will enable me to share my imagery, my thoughts and views as well as to shed some personal light on what is happening out there. For us artists are blessed with time and space to reflect and consider this world that surrounds us. For good and for bad.

Come and join me. Enjoy.
